Rod Hairston is a leader and speaker, with a passion for developing effective male leaders in the family, in the church, and in the marketplace and for building strong marriages  and families.

For ten seasons he has served as a consultant and chaplain to the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens, helping them to build a winning culture among front office executives, coaches, and players.  He works regularly with leaders in the professional sports world, helping them navigate a rapidly changing sports culture and a widening divide between the front office and the field.  He speaks often at NCAA and NFL team gatherings, men’s and marriage conferences, and corporate training sessions.

Rod is a catalyst for personal transformation as a consultant to business leaders and high-profile sports figures, helping them address  their private lives in the areas of marriage and family, career transitions, men’s issues, transformational leadership, and spiritual growth.  Men from all walks of life have been impacted by his discerning approach to male-specific challenges.

He is also the founding pastor of Messiah Community Church, a growing community of Christ followers who are committed to healing and strengthening families through faith in Jesus Christ.  Messiah, under Pastor Rod’s leadership is developing a culture where families of any size, with any challenges, can become salt and light in a society of decaying family life.

Rod also serves on the Boards of Trustees for the Tinina Q. Cade and As One foundations, lending his experience, passion, and wisdom for the good of infertile families and disadvantaged children.  He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and a native of Norfolk, VA.  Rod and his wife of 18 years, Sheri, live with their 4 children in the Baltimore, MD area.
