Who is Rod Hairston?

I’ve spent a lifetime studying marriage and romantic relationships, with a focus on working with high-performing college and professional athletes. In my work with athletes, I’ve witnessed how infidelity, porn, and addictive sexual behaviors disrupt the lives of incredible men and women. My commitment to helping them led to the discovery of an effective strategy that I now use to help private clients overcome porn addiction. This includes understanding the role of emotions, recognizing the impact of adverse childhood experiences, and fostering spiritual growth.

Raised by a single mom, I beat the odds to become a 2X Super Bowl champion and a successful entrepreneur. I’m grateful for the success I’ve found in my marriage of 34 years, as a father of 4 amazing adult children, as an author of 2 books, and as a marriage coach and advisor to couples in professional sports and business.

While all of this sounds great, the truth is, I struggle just like you—even as an Executive Coach and Pastor. Growing up without a father, I faced bullying and witnessed my mom struggle to make ends meet. Fear and insecurity still grip me on some days. I was introduced to porn at the age of 12, and no one ever talked to me about being faithful. Like many, sex became a substitute for real connection.

By God’s grace, I am now free from those behaviors. But even after all I’ve accomplished, there’s still so much I haven’t figured out about life and my driven personality. One thing I’m certain of, though, is that shame-free living changes everything. Fighting for it is worth it.
